I've been in the studio this week working on some expressionist floral watercolors. I love the freedom that expressionistic painting allows you to have without having to consider the construction and carefully plan things out. I just paint from my heart and what I feel like and it all flows together. I'll keep working with it until I am pleased with the feelings the painting evokes. That's when I know a painting is complete.
What an adventure the past weekend has been. Being around all of the art and culture in Santa Fe was so inspiring. It was so stimulating to be outside of my environment. I saw some crazy surrealism artwork that got my mind really moving. Special thanks to Jeanne, who I met at the show. Jeanne shared a description of something that she had envisioned in the past, that inspired a new series of work. I was so anxious to get back to my studio and start painting.
This week, I have been uploading my scans to the website correcting the color issues with the first images that were uploaded. I'll continue working with the site, and updating issues as they are discovered. I have also been working on verifying all links are working correctly. Please bear with me as I continue to fine tune and correct any issues that arise. We are wrapping up the art show in Santa Fe. It was a wonderful event, and a great FIRST show! I learned a lot, and can't wait to schedule my next event. I saw fine art, jewelry, food and more at the show. There were 200+ vendors that enjoyed the wonderful weather. At the Challenge New Mexico show all booth fees are donated to help people with disabilities. http://www.challengenewmexico.com/ Thank you to all of the people that came out to enjoy the show, it was a pleasure visiting with everyone. Here is a picture of my booth on the second day of the art show. It's official I ordered the knockdown Pro Panels for my display today!! They'll be in by Wednesday, and the booth will be stylish in New Mexico! I thought this type of display would read the best for my art and for future shows.
I've been working on getting ready for the Challenge New Mexico 2014 art show next week. This Art Festival donates all of the booth fees to the disabled, so everything is for a good cause. This weekend was dedicated to come up with a good way to display the art at the festival. I found some information on Pro Panels and am hoping that I can get these shipped out in time for the show, if not I'll have to work on plan B. This will be the first show that I've participated in, and I am excited to see how it goes, stay tuned.
